The Backdrop is a way to personalize a Backlight profile. We ask people simple questions to get a better idea of who they are, and their answers are displayed here. The important part of the response is, of course, the Why - what is behind that response.
Why do you like it?
Under current circumstances, I relate to it heavily. The lyrics are heart-breaking, and the passion in this guy's voice sends a shiver up my spine, even after having heard it for the hundredth time.
Why?
Don't let the movie sway you. The novel is brilliant. One lone soul, dealing with the loss of his wife and child (as well as everyone else in the world), while fighting the rest of the world's population...who are all vampires trying to kill him. Need I say more?
Why?
Every song feels like they are singing about me. They captured my angst as a teenager, they inspired my writing as a young adult, they continue to move me to this day. If only they worked quicker...
Why?
It has everything you can ask for in a movie. The love story, the epic battle (in the ring and in his life), friendship, honor, an Italian main character. Still the greatest underdog story to date.
How was it?
Not bad. Definitely his weakest novel. His characters are normally engaging and have depth, whereas the narrator of this tale was a somewhat trivialized version of his previous characters.
How?
Lunch was ending, and I liked her and I had a pretty good idea that she liked me, so I threw kosh into the wind and grabbed me some lady. Our romance lasted another week.
Why?
I'm a horror buff, and this guy just knows his stuff. He captures the essence of terror and still manages to write some of the most gripping characters.
